Racial Equity Throughout Data Integration Webinar: Part II

All In with Network for Public Health Law is pleased to present the second part in a three-part series on Racial Equity Throughout Data Integration.
How do you center racial equity throughout the data life cycle?
Data integration by local and state governments is undertaken for the public good: by breaking down program silos, practitioners and policy-makers can address the often interconnected needs of families and communities more effectively and holistically. Yet, the way that cross-sector data are used can also reinforce the legacies of racist policies and produce inequitable resource allocation, access, and outcomes.
Since 2019, AISP has led a diverse workgroup of civic data stakeholders to co-create strategies and identify best practices to center racial equity throughout the administrative data reuse life cycle. AISP’s new Toolkit for Centering Racial Equity Throughout Data Integration includes broad guidance on encouraged and discouraged data access and use and describes positive and problematic practices for centering racial equity across the six stages of the data life cycle.
