All In Webinar: Using Big Data and Analytics to Improve Public Health


Join All In: Data for Community Health for the next webinar in our project showcase series highlighting insights and lessons from local collaborations integrating multi-sector data to improve community health.

The webinar will feature two projects actively working to leverage multiple big data sets and apply advanced analytics to better identify issues, prioritize interventions and policies, and allocate resources. These collaborations are led by researchers and public health departments are at the forefront of the movement to leverage big data to drive community health improvement. These collaborations between researchers and health departments are at the forefront of the movement to access, analyze, and leverage big data to address public health priorities.

Featured projects:

  • Allegheny County Health Department is forming a connected data warehouse that combines data from multiple sectors to create a more complete picture of the factors impacting the cardiovascular health of the county’s 1.2 million residents.
  • Vanderbilt University Department of Health Policy is developing a data-sharing network including various sectors to aggregate and analyze disparate data that will allow real-time identification of at-risk pregnant women and referral to specific and appropriate interventions to reduce infant mortality.
